T I M E
Dear Hans Zimmer,
I've grown up with your music. You gave me a lot of inspiration for my whole life. When I was 10 years old or even younger, I was going through the streets of Potsdam to my school, to the table tennis club, to the kayak club, to the football club, nowadays to work and through my travels: with your music. It made me dream of another world. It´s really like daydreaming (what I'm kinda professional in). I got inspired by your music so often. I remember exactly when I was going through my Norway footage, listening to the Planet Earth II Suite Theme. I checked the beautiful footage, I imagined that maybe one-day our unique world is gone.
This imagination combined with your music, made me cry. That was the first time that I noticed that I should go in another direction for my videography. I should learn more and also do things for the planet, that we cohabitate.
There is nothing more to say, but thank you.
Stay healthy,
Florian Seltmann

DESCRIPTION:
Actually, I could say I'm not responsible for that. I'm born into it, the generations before made this our greatest mistake. But of course, that's one of the most stupid things that I could say. Because I'm using these technologies, take all the benefits, I see what we have destroyed, that's why I feel for nature and want to recover it. Maybe some of you don't know what happened in the past. How we robbed this planet like hungry pigs. And we are really at a good way to take all out of our planet, as the juice out of a lemon. It's necessary to make changes.
Almost 50 percent of the humanity's impact on the living world is attributable to the richest 16 percent of the human population. The lifestyle that the wealthiest have become used to on earth, is wholly unsustainable. As we plot a part to a sustainable future we will have to address this issue. We must learn not to live with the earth's finite resources, but also to share them more evenly.
Probably you have one certain question:
How we can change this world?
If everyone makes the changes that are possible for themself it will be a lot easier. There are a lot of things that you can do, from now on.
No. 1: Eating habits, change them.
My challenge is not to eat meat except once or at most twice a week, and not to buy cheap meat in the supermarket.
The food industry is one of the biggest industries that are about to destroy our planet. Check yourself and get an idea of how our food is produced. You will realize that this is not healthy for anyone. Not for us, not for the animals, and not for the planet. This is the biggest change you can make right now. The big bosses will never realize how wrong they are if we continue to consume their food.
No one is saying we have to go vegan, but if we start becoming more mindful and responsible, it can't be a bad thing.
I know that my opinion is pretty hard and there are a lot of people that wouldn't get empathy for my thoughts, but after we destroyed so much, we need these opinions to show that we were wrong.
No.2 ECOSIA - Whenever you browse or use Google just use Ecosia. It works the same, with the difference that this page plant trees for the money that they make with Ecosia. Latest after Greta, everyone knows now what is the way to clean up our atmosphere. We need trees, like we need the sun and the water.
No.3 TooGoodToGo - Don't waste food too much. A lot of things we are producing is for the trash. One or two times a week I go to some bakeries and get the food that they want to throw away. It's a very good thing. You just pay around 3 euros and get a lot of bread, sandwiches, cookies or croissants. We need more companies that join this system. It's not in every city, but here in Berlin it works already well.
No.4: Separate your trash and check your plastic consume
I'm happy if you enjoyed my video. I took a lot of effort into this project. I combined nearly all of my travels in one video, which makes it really personal to me. Even the shot at the beginning of my younger self I didn't plan. I just realized after shooting both of them that they match.
Time by Hans Zimmer describes life from the beginning till the day we die. That's exactly what you see in my video. I didn't film anything new for this contest, except the clock for the title scene. It is a huge puzzle of my travels and experiences that I combine right here.
When I heard the first time about this contest - till now, I thought every day about it. The story that I choose, the pictures that I show, the colors + the sounds that I use and the words that I will say.
